  1. Support work on JAXA’s Responsibilities regarding disaster response related activities

(2020-2023)

Position Held: Spatial Data Analyst

Location: Asia Pacific region

Client: Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)

Main Project Features: Sentinel Asia (SA) is a voluntary initiative that collaborates with space and disaster management agencies using RS and GIS to support disaster management in the Asia Pacific region. The project includes three main activities: preparedness, response, and recovery phases. Regarding the response phase, Geoinformatics Center – Asian Institute of Technology (GIC-AIT) joined the project as a Principal Data Analysis Node (P-DAN) in 2008.

The main components of the contract are (1) Project Manager (PM) activities of the International Disaster Charter (IDC) with two activations, and (2) Generation, provision, and evaluation of VAPs for ten activations per

Main Duties: (i) To produce Value Added Products (VAP) as early as possible to support end-users for their operations after a disaster occurrence using RS and GIS method. (ii) Develop and update Disaster Response Portal

Field mission for flood map validation in Ayutthaya, Thailand - October 2021. Wet Season Flooding.

I had been the Project Manager (PM) and Value adder (VA) activities of the International Disaster Charter (IDC).

        (2) Eruption of Mount Semeru volcano in Indonesia - 7 December 2021 

        (3) Flooding continues after Tropical Storm Noru in Thailand - 19 October 2022 

        (4) Tropical Storm Nalgae in the Philippines - 29 October 2022 

        (5) Semeru volcano in Indonesia - 5 December 2022 

        (6) Earthquake in Afghanistan - 8 October 2023
